What do rising seas mean for coastal communities?

How can scientists help?

Along much of the world’s coastlines, sea level is rising due, in part, to climate change & global warming. Coastal hazards such as sea-level rise and increased storminess pose substantial risks to vulnerable, low-lying coastal communities. These risks are growing in response to climate change. My work is focused on increasing coastal resiliency through natural and nature-based features, such as coastal dunes, using the best available science.
